Sun Rays- LTAD 1/LTAD 8

Throughout the program children will develop strength, flexibility, motor skills, sensory understanding and social skills through interaction with others.
By introducing them to activity at a young age, these children have a head start in building a foundation for life long health and wellness. A parent or guardian is required to assist the child during each class.

Alberta Gymnastics Federation Insurance: Siblings attending classes or programs

Important:

Insurance is an important issue in the sport of Gymnastics and the Alberta Gymnastics Federation (AGF) is continually researching and monitoring the conditions, provincially and nationally of it programs.

Recently it was brought to AGF’s attention that member clubs were allowing parents participating in classes and programs to bring siblings of the registered participant with them. The sibling is usually in a baby carrier (sling, backpack, seat etc.) or similar device. This poses a safety issue, potentially interfering with the training of the child, not to mention the risk to the infant sibling. This includes children in strollers or car seats on the sidelines or in the viewing area as they pose a significant risk to the organization. Classes should be a parent/ child experience with the parent’s undivided attention.  In order to have you and your child experience the best class possible Ortona and the Alberta Gymnastics Federation ask that you:

  1. Be actively supervising and assisting their child throughout the circuits.
  2. Parents provide a second caregiver to supervise siblings either at home or in gym viewing area at all times for any siblings. This includes any child 8 years of age and under.

Liability with respect to injury suffered by a minor is very strict, and very difficult to defend against. Providing any form of childcare or supervision for these children by the club whether it be expressed or implied is an unsanctioned AGF activity and there for NOT covered by the AGF insurance policy.

World of Wonderment (WOW) Programs

Why Choose Gymnastics for Your Toddler?

Gymnastics is an ideal activity for all preschoolers as it helps develop gross motor skills, spatial awareness, coordination, strength, power, flexibility and creativity. Ortona’s gymnastics programs offer these young gymnasts a chance to stretch, jump, run and roll in a safe, welcoming and educational environment. Each Parent and Tot class is age specific, guaranteeing that the exercises are best suited for your child’s needs and that no child is left out.
Our Parent and Tot programs allow you to accompany your child in each program’s activities. Being with your child helps them to feel more comfortable and safe, making it easier for the toddlers to learn and explore. These classes are a perfect way to spend some quality time with your children. It’s always fulfilling to be able to see them laugh, grow and have fun.

Leapah’s World of Wonderment

Gymnastics is an ideal activity for preschoolers. It is an excellent physical way to develop gross motor skills, spatial awareness, coordination, strength, power, flexibility, musical awareness and creativity. Gymnastics is also a fun-filled, non-contact activity through which children can develop self-confidence, experience a wide variety of challenges and opportunity for social interaction.
Gymnastics helps develop physical literacy in children. The development of these physical tools are needed to take part in activity and sport, both for healthy life-long enjoyment and for sporting success. You’re never too young to gain something positive from the sport of gymnastics.
